FAQs
Wondering if the Functional Assessor role is right for you? Here are answers to common questions physiotherapists ask before making the move.
Yes. While this isn’t a hands-on clinical role, your assessment skills, clinical reasoning, and understanding of physical function are a huge asset. You’ll be applying those skills in a new context, helping people by understanding how their conditions affect their everyday life.
Not at all. We welcome physiotherapists from a wide range of backgrounds, MSK, neuro, rehab, acute, and more. What matters most is that you’re HCPC-registered and confident in carrying out structured assessments and writing clear, evidence-based reports.
You can absolutely maintain your HCPC registration while working in this role. Many of our physiotherapists meet their CPD requirements through on-the-job learning, internal training, and reflection.
It’s a different pace, but many physios find it refreshingly structured. You’ll still be thinking clinically and working directly with people, just in a more stable, less physically demanding environment — and with no shift work or weekend hours.
Definitely. There’s a clear path for growth, from quality assurance roles to coaching, training, and team leadership. Many of our physiotherapists have found new purpose and progression here after years in clinical practice.
