Advo Health selected to deliver new government Health Assessment Advisory Service (HAAS)

In September 2024 the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) will launch the new Health Assessment Advisory Service (HAAS), which will supersede the existing separate contracts for Personal Independence Payments (PIP), Work Capability Assessments (WCA) for Employment and Support Allowance and Universal Credit (UC), as well as a number of specialist benefits services.

This service will replace the old multi-provider setup with a single Prime provider in each area of the country, bringing together all health benefit assessments into one comprehensive service.

Following a rigorous and competitive tendering process where potential suppliers were invited to bid on various lots, Advo Health has secured work within the new contract as a supply chain partner.

This means that as well as continuing to provide both in-person, telephone and video PIP assessments as we have done for over 10 years, from September we will diversify our service provision and also begin delivering Work Capability Assessments.

For prospective employees, this offers healthcare professionals the exciting opportunity to develop additional skills in a new role as a Functional Assessor, which you can find out more about here

With clinicians leading us at executive and management level, Advo Health is committed to being an employer of choice for healthcare professionals looking to improve their work life balance or to vary their career. We will continue to offer a range of beneficial initiatives including flexible working, employee referral bonuses, and extensive training to help ensure assessors gain approval, all within a supportive and inclusive working environment.

Chief of Operations – Advo Health, Adam Jarvis, commented: “As we prepare to deliver the government’s new HAAS service in September 2024, we are delighted to continue to be a trusted partner to the DWP and other providers. The results of us securing work within this new contract are testament to the hard work and success of everyone involved with Advo, and would not have been possible without the great service our colleagues provide day in, day out for our claimants.”
