Introducing our 2023 Employee of the Year
Over 90 trophies were awarded to Advo Health employees as part of the annual ‘Advo Health V.I.P (Values in Practice) Employee Awards’ scheme.
The ‘Advo Health V.I.P (Values in Practice) Employee Awards’ take place at the end of the year via a virtual ceremony or in-person event. The awards are based around the business values – Caring, United, Pioneering, and Dependable.
Starting in 2021 the employee awards scheme is an opportunity to celebrate and recognise the incredible work that Advo Health staff do throughout the year. For 2023 over 300 nominations were made and over 300 employees joined the ceremony to celebrate.
During this ceremony, we announced that our 2023 ‘Employee of the Year’ award was given to Clinical Operations Manager, Angela Marley. In this article she describes what winning this award means to her.
When I first joined Advo Health over three years ago I started as a Disability Assessor and have since progressed into a Clinical Operations Manager role.
The awards are a fantastic way of making employees feel valued. Being able to nominate colleagues is a lovely way of showing your appreciation for them going the extra mile when this could be so easily missed in their everyday role.
Being named ‘Employee of the Year’ was a huge surprise and a very proud moment as I have never won anything like this before – I did cry as I felt a little overwhelmed! It’s an amazing feeling to be recognised by colleagues for the work that I do, and it makes you feel like your hard work is appreciated.
My favourite thing about working for Advo Health is the teams we have here. From my first day, I have felt welcomed and supported in all aspects of my role. If I had to describe the company culture at Advo Health in three words I would say it is supportive, dynamic, and inclusive.
There is a new challenge every day, so I continue to learn new skills and get to utilise my knowledge and experience to its full extent. I have met and spoken to some amazing individuals, both within the company and within the assessor role.
If you are looking for a career that is both challenging and rewarding, where you can use your knowledge and experience whilst making a difference in people’s lives, then being a Disability Assessor is the job for you.
