Advo employees prepare to run the London Marathon for Macmillan

We are proud to have participated in several fundraising activities over the last 6 months, raising over £2,200 for their 2022/23 charity partner, Macmillan.

In Summer 2022, our employees voted for Macmillan as their charity partner for 2022/23. Macmillan are one of the largest charities providing specialist health care, information, and financial support to people affected by cancer.

As part of our drive to support our charity partner, a “society” was set-up for employees to join voluntarily to help organise and run the fundraising events throughout the year.

Made up of 20 employees across the Disability Assessor network and business and customer support roles, “The Advo Health Society” have put on three fundraising activities since the partnership with Macmillan began.

To kick-off the fundraising, hundreds of employees around the country hosted their own Macmillan Coffee Morning raising over £900 at both in-person and virtual events.

2022 ended with a pumpkin carving competition and a World Cup sweepstake raising a further £420.

Three employees are running the London Marathon for Macmillan in April 2023 and are already well into their fundraising.

We are supporting them in their fundraising through the promotion of their JustGiving pages, to help them raise as much money as possible for our charity partner Macmillan.

By working closely with Macmillan we plan to provide t-shirts for the runners along with goodie bags and share advice on how the three employees can train for the marathon.
